Greek House

Besides becoming part of a Greek organization like Alpha Kappa Alpha one of the highlights of membership is living in the sorority or fraternity house. Many members will live in the house during their sophomore years however some may continue to live in the sorority or fraternity house through graduation. Each house and Greek organization has their own rules about who may live in the house and for how long.
The reason living in the Greek house is so desirable is because individuals are surrounded by their “sisters” and “brothers” as they are called. This allows for a very tight knit group of friends to grow and help each other through the college experience. There are benefits like always having someone to eat with and someone to go to the gym with. Many events take place at the house, too, so members who live in the house will always be right in the middle of the action.
You can easily tell a Greek house from others because the organization’s name is in Greek letters outside the home. Also, most of the members walking in and out of the house are wearing Greek apparel of some sort. This is a dead giveaway, but if you are still confused and you see individuals walking around with Greek paddles then you know for sure you are at a fraternity or sorority.
